New Fill in the Blank Functionality for ActiveTextbook

One of the most requested features for ActiveTextbook is the ability to fill in the blanks left in the original text. We are excited to announce that Evident Point is now working on adding this new overlay to ActiveTextbook!

With the new fill in the blank overlay, your readers will be able to highlight the blank areas left in the original text, choose “Create Overlay” from the drop down context menu, and select the new “Fill the Blank” overlay as shown in the picture below.

Once the reader selects the “Fill the blank” overlay, it becomes an editable text box, allowing them to input their answer in the newly opened window. This new feature gives you the option to select from various font styles and specify a hint in the appearance tab.

In addition, Evident Point is working on adding fill in the blank question type to quizzes created in ActiveTextbook. With this new quiz functionality, you can use Fill in the Blank questions combined with existing Multiple Choice (single/multiple answer), True/False, and Short Answer questions, to further challenge your users and ensure they have a thorough understanding of the content.

Using the new Fill in the Blank question type on your quizzes allows you to gain insight into how your readers are understanding the content by asking them to input their own response to the question rather than choosing from a list of already available answers.
